Backroads & Beginnings: Our Story

Hey y’all — I’m Heather, the heart and hands behind Wild Moon Wearables.

Wild Moon Wearables was born in the foothills of Western North Carolina… raised on backroads, porch swings, church suppers, and the kind of stories that get passed around kitchen tables long after the coffee’s gone cold. Around here, making something by hand wasn’t a trend… it was simply how things were done.

I grew up watching women turn ordinary things into something worth holding onto. Quilts stitched from scraps. Recipes written on stained index cards. Gardens grown with tired hands and faithful hearts. A little grit, a little magic, and a whole lot of love stitched into everything they touched.

That spirit found its way into Wild Moon.

What started as a creative outlet became a love letter to Appalachia… to the mountains that raised me, the small towns that shaped me, and the feeling of home I never want to lose. Every piece carries a bit of that story... repurposed quilts, worn denim, soft sweatshirts, hometown pride, and slow-made details meant to feel lived in and loved for years to come.

Wild Moon was never meant to be polished or perfect. It was meant to feel real. A little nostalgic. A little wild. Like windows down on a gravel road… stadium lights on Friday nights… garden tomatoes on the counter… and your favorite worn sweatshirt after the sun goes down.

So whether you found me from a small town nearby or somewhere far beyond these mountains… I’m mighty glad you’re here.

I hope you find something that feels like home.
